Environment Control is seeking a dependable and flexible Full-Time Janitorial Floater/Fill-In Team Member to support our operations throughout the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas. This position plays an important role in meeting the changing needs of the business by providing coverage for open shifts, vacations, call-outs, and other staffing needs across our service area.

The Floater/Fill-In must be willing and able to travel throughout the region, including from Airway Heights to Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene, company vehicle can be utilized when preforming work duties.
Responsibilities include performing basic janitorial duties, traveling between multiple customer locations, completing assigned work independently and efficiently, using a smartphone for work-related communication and tasks, and maintaining a strong commitment to quality and reliability.

This position will also assist with general warehouse/shop duties and company supply organization and management. The Floater/Fill-In will have a flexible schedule with varying start and end times and must be adaptable to changing daily assignments.
The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, comfortable working independently, and willing to go where they are needed to support our team and customers.

What Does a Day-Time Floater Do?
Janitorial & Customer Service
  • Empty trash, sanitize touchpoints, and make spaces shine.
  • Keep bathrooms fresh and stocked (yes, we provide gloves!).
  • Complete basic janitorial duties at various customer locations.
  • Interact professionally with clients when they are present.
  • Handle keys and secure buildings responsibly.
  • Communicate regularly with your supervisor.
  • Utilize your smartphone to access our electronic ticketing system and complete work-related tasks.
Travel & Coverage
  • Travel to different assignments throughout the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas on a daily basis.
  • Use your own reliable vehicle to travel between assignments.
  • Provide coverage for open shifts, vacations, call-outs, and other staffing needs.
  • Deliver supplies to customer buildings as needed.
Shop & Warehouse
  • Receive and organize deliveries received at the shop.
  • Pick up supply orders and organize them in the shop.
  • Manage and maintain shop laundry.
  • Maintain the general organization and cleanliness of the warehouse.
  • Maintain and perform basic repairs on janitorial equipment, including vacuums and cords.
What We Require
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under EC’s insurance policy.
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Must have a working smartphone.
  • Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., as well as performing physical tasks such as bending, walking, standing, and general movement.
  • Must be able to read and follow simple instructions in English (Intermediate – Level 2).
  • High school diploma or equivalent? Awesome, but not required!
